The Two Gustavs

While we were in Norway we spent a day and evening with a good friend of Gus', Gustav Bjoerbaek, and his charming wife, Annelise. The two Gustavs went to high school together in 1954. The have kept in touch and are still close friends after early60 years. Pretty impressive!

Below are a few photos of them and I particularly like one at the platform diving board. It was a popular swimming hole on the Oslo fjord in those days. Gus jumped off the top of that 10 meter platform in 1952 but Gustav waited 10 years to give it a try. Wise man! He grew up to be head meteorologist for the country of Norway and has done lots of research and written several books on the topic.

They treated us to a visit at the Roald Amundsen(first to the South Pole) Museum and Home, lunch at a wonderful fjordside restaurant, a tour of the Royal Palace AND to a fabulous salmon dinner at their beautiful home in Oslo after all that.

It's good to be friends with someone for 60 years! Thank you so much Gustav and Annelise.

Not sure if the blog is working correctly. There's an undated post between one on July 26 and another on July 29. It says you're leaving for France but in later posts you are still in Norway.
Sharon and I have been following your adventures but now not sure if you've seen our comments.
Let me know if you get this one.
Carry on having fun :-)
