What's Under The Bridge in Norway?!?!

Lots of things but trolls.......
You will love these photos of what I found under this gorgeous bridge. Especially Saltstraumen.......the world's largest tidal whirlpool (male strom). The scenery is great and so is the weather.

Stay at Oskars Bryggar - July 9

Oskars Bryggar (Oskars Dock) is a lovely cluster of, again, renovated fishing cabins nestled on a steep hillside overlooking the North Sea and the Islands. I have posted a few photos below but could only get a slight side view of our cottage where we spent the night as the hillside was to steep below and went right in to the sea.
Amazing, again.

The some of these photos show the scenes from a ferry ride that we took across to Oskars Bryggar. The water was unbelievably clear and snow capped mountains a delight. Shorts and t-shirt weather. Luv, Ann

Life at Reine Rorbuer(Guest Cottages)

Just can't resist to show a few more images from the meals to the charming place wherei have spent the last three days. From shrimp on toast made in our little cottage to crab leg luncheon at the charming pub next door everything was great!!!

Last Midnight Sun July 9

These photos have all been taken at various locations on Lofoten Island between the hours of midnight and 1:30am. Unfortunately, it was cloudy to the West but I think you can see the sun is still high in the sky.
Quite an experience.

Beauty of Lofoten

I have never seen anyplace more beautiful than this. It is an amazing continuation of mountains and sea and was worth the crazy trip it took to get here.

I will let these pictures speak for them selves and they were all taken at either 11:00pm, 12:30 am, 2:30 am, 9:30 am and noon on July 6 and 7, 2012. It was the midnight sun and it never gets dark this time of year. Hope you will ENJOY!

These were taken in the coastal villages of Reine and A ( pronounced O) on the Lofoten Islands off th Coast of Norway. All the little red cottages are restored salmon and cod fishing camps that are now used as charming visitor cottages.

July 6. Visit to Bodo (buda)

Basically the last two day aboard the ship have been very cloudy as you will see in the below photos and a little rainy There are lilacs just coming into bloom.....just like Maine in May. The lovely mountains are shrouded in fog but the natives are quite friendly.

We wandered around the town for an hour getting supplies for our three days in our seaside cabin in Lofoten. Next stop. We the had lunch at a charming little Italian spot in Boda. You will see the shot of the interior and evidence of good pizza.

I can't figure out how to label my photos as yet. Can you find the Viking and the chess set in the photos below? The last photos are of our ship, Midnatsol, leaving Bodo harbor and heading out to the open ocean and the Lofoten Islands about 3 hours away. Glad that it isn't too rough and windy. Just enough to make you know you are in Norway.

The sun is scheduled to return. Let's hope so. Love from the Coast of Norway. Ann
PS. Gus is still cruising Oslo fjord. No news is good news I suppose.
